A spectacular configuration immortalized by Blaise Chappuis, our parachuting photo specialist. As soon as the parachutists are dropped out of the Pilatus, the pilot puts the plane in vertical dive to join and pass them. To avoid collision risk the pilot must preserve a permanent visual contact with the parachutists and do not too much anticipates the exit of the tandem, because of the risk to strike them with the wing. An operation of precision, for the pilot as well as for the photographer!

This month, Bertrand Boone presents us some splendid news images related to its favourite activity: kiting. An incredible report for Patrice Schreyer and Laurent Bouvet, who followed the testing parachutist Thierry Demonfort during an extremely delicate tandem dropping exercise from a patrol airplane to a nuclear submarine of the French Navy. All the photographs are here.

Damien Butaeye followed a team of cavers to more than 600 m of depth in the gouffre du Romy, at the search of an unknown underground river in the mytical Pierre Saint Martin massif. To climb a sequoia ? This is what did Olivier Renck, Rapsodia's team photographer installed in Los Angeles, in the company of 2 models and confirmed climbers. The giant sequoias are the largest trees in the world and push only on the Western face of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, in California. Alterning climbing and speleology technicals, they reach in 2 days the summit of this 70 meters height and 2000 years old giant...

A deservedreturn to home for Patrice Schreyer, after a 2 weeks skiing trip in Krasnaya Polyana, in the Russian Caucasus. 2 sunny hours over 10 days of photo shooting and some snow confitions not to put any avalanche tranceiver outside, who said that outdoors photographer was an easy job ? In conclusion, a feature with a lot of character in a finally not so known part of the world.

3rd edition of the Gorzderette this January 28th on the ice tower of Champagny en Vanoise. That's new and that's fun, the speed flying is coming on this winter in the ski resorts. This wing is 2x smaller than a parapente and makes it possible to descend the slopes and to jump the rock bars skis to the feet, at speeds exceeding 70 km/h !
